Olmos There: BSG’s “Hot Dog” marks 2011 with return to competitive sports

As the new year begins, Battlestar Galactica’s Brendan “Hot Dog” Costanza, aka Bodie Olmos, takes a look back at 2011 and his return to competitive sports.

In an exclusive retrospective with OlmosPerfect.com, Bodie, who is the son of Edward James Olmos, talks about the 14 events he undertook throughout the year, beginning with an emotional and inspirational journey and finish in the 2011 Los Angeles Marathon, his first, and ending with a 50k trail run, also a first.

“One Moore Episode”

In case you missed the Facebook premiere of Portlandia’s “One Moore Episode,” it airs today at 10/9 p.m. Central on IFC.

The episode features a hilarious, BSG-related sketch interlaced throughout the episode and features appearances by Edward James Olmos, James Callis, and Ron D. Moore.

This is a must-see for BSG fans!

Waterkeeper Alliance

In continuing his support for the Robert F. Kennedy Jr.-founded Waterkeeper Alliance, Edward James Olmos is taking part in a celebrity ski event in Banff, Canada, this weekend. Mr. Olmos joins Mr. Kennedy, along with a number of his acting peers to help raise funds for the non-profit group dedicated to protecting our global waterways.

Sundance on the Horizon

Next week, the Edward James Olmos-produced Filly Brown will make its official bow at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

Directed by Youssef Delara and Michael D. Olmos, the film showcases the story of a young, hip-hop street artist on the cusp success, who’s struggling to make the right choices for herself and those she loves.

The film introduces us to Gina Rodriguez as Filly Brown, and she is backed by a cast that includes Mr. Olmos (who also serves as executive producer), Jenni Rivera, Lou Diamond Phillips, Emilio Rivera, and Joseph Julian Soria.

BSG stars Bodie Olmos and Jamie Bamber also have parts in the film, which was penned by Mr. Delara.
